Health exhibit returns to Exploration Place

Friday, February 24, 2012

Wichita's Exploration Place museum is bringing back a health exhibit as one of its permanent features, and the exhibit opens this weekend with displays on oral and dental health.

The exhibit will feature "Big Mouth," a 7-foot-tall model of a human mouth, and it will feature interactive touch points on teeth, gums and the tongue.   The model will be installed over the next few days.

The weekend will have a schedule of activities focusing on dental health for children.  Wichita Children's Theater and Dance Center and the Wichita State University Student Dental Hygene Association will have events Saturday and Sunday.

Exploration Place received a grant of $101,200 from the Delta Dental of Kansas Foundation to help with the costs of the exhibit.
