Three people suffered minor smoke inhalation after a fire inside of a duplex early Saturday morning.
The fire was reported about 2:30 this morning in the 1700 block of North Madison near 17th and Grove. When firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy smoke coming from the attic of the duplex.
They traced the source to a small fire burning in a utility room. The cause appears to be combustible materials left to close to the furnace.
911 dispatchers say three people were transported to the hospital, a 38 year-old woman, 19 year-old woman and a 6 year-old girl. Their injuries are minor.
