A Viola couple, who suffered from smoke inhalation have been released from Via Christi Medical Center, after their mobile home caught fire.
It happened just before 3:30 Friday morning. Sedgwick County Fire Marshall Tim Millspaugh says the town lost electricity and the couple used a gas top stove to keep warm, but a nearby towel caught fire.
Despite exploding ammunition and oxygen bottles, Sedgwick County and volunteer firefighters brought the fire under control quickly. Millspaugh estimates damage at $18,000. Instead of taking help from the Red Cross, the couple will stay with their son and neighbors
