Fire accidental

      

 Wichita Fire Investigators say a child playing with a cigarette lighter resulted in a housefire at 4007 East Regents. That's west of 17th Street North and Oliver.

Fire Investigations Captain Stu Bevis says the child's father tried to put the flames on the bed out with a blanket, then called 911. The home is a total loss. Captain Bevis says estimates damage at $60,000. He says by the time crews arrived the flames had spread into the walls up to the attic. The fire broke out just before 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
