Wichita oilman runs for office

Wichita oilman, Willis " Wink " Hartman Sr., will run for the Fourth District Congressional seat in Kansas.

"I began looking to run for office in late 2003 after talking it over with my wife, who will help run the 2010 campaign." Hartman said in an exclusive interview with KFDI News.  "The aircraft industry will be my top priority, followed by health care reform and cap and trade." said Hartman. He plans to make an official announcement after Labor Day.

The 4th District seat is currently held by Congressman Todd Tiahrt, who plans to run for Senator Sam Brownback's seat against Congressman Jerry Moran.

Senator Brownback has announced his candidacy for Governor of Kansas.  Governor Mark Parkinson has stated he will not run for office after replacing Governor Kathleen Sebelius, who left to become HHS Secretary in the Obama Adminstration.
