The 16-year-old boy who police say is responsible for the accidental shooting of his friend last Sunday has been charged in court.
The teenager was in juvenile court Tuesday afternoon and was charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of possession of a firearm within five years of conviction of a felony. The charges stem from the shooting death of 16-year-old Eric Aleman. Police say the two teens were looking a gun in a home in the 2200 block of South Ellis when it was accidentally fired.
The teen charged in the case could be tried as adult. A hearing on that motion is expected next week.
