Teens burglarize several cars and garage in east Wichita

Three teenagers were caught after breaking into cars and garages early Wednesday morning in northeast Wichita.

It happened in the 1200 North Rutland, 1200 North Tallyrand and 7000 block of East MaGill. 

"Officer's followed a trail of Funyuns" potato chip bags left by the teens." Police Sergeant Charles Newman said.

Brett Gehrer's yellow Mustang was vandalized as the suspect's sprayed a " smiley face" on the driver's side door. Gehrer removed the paint with rubbing alcohol. Sergeant Newman urges homeowners to lock thier vehicles and garage doors to prevent similar burglaries.
